Season opener! This route follows the Rice Canyon access road then doubles back to the Y with a side of single-track trail on the return. Mostly flat. 3.6 miles round trip from the Y.
Start the season right! Take Rice Canyon all the way down to H Street, up Heart Rate Hill, around and down Old Mexican, back to H Street, cross at Del Rey Blvd., then alllll the way up Honey Badger, cross Paseo Ranchero and around Independence Park, Calle Santiago, Paseo Ranchero, and back to the Y. 6.3 miles round trip from the Y.
This is our go-to trail. Single track trail through a beautiful canyon in our back yard. Head out from the Y and hit the canyon behind the fire station. Watch for mountain bikes! 1.4 miles from the Y to the Home Depot parking lot.
Flat and fast with easy access from the Y. Head down the hill from the Y to Discovery Park then west through Rice Canyon. You can choose the groomed fire road or run along the single track trail on the south side of the canyon. 2.2 miles one way from the Y to Heart Rate Hill at H Street.
Hills and more hills! Starting from the Y, go south on Paseo Ranchero then turn west on the trail before Telegraph Canyon Road. This trail starts out flat but does not stay that way! Rolling hills and dirt are on the menu. 2.5 miles one way from the Y to Paseo del Rey and East J.
THE BEAST 2

We're heading into Bonita on this route. Starts out deceptively suburban on Rancho del Rey Parkway but once we make it to Otay Lakes Road, it's all trail. Lots of ups and downs and twists and turns. Watch your step! 1.9 miles to the middle of The Beast.
